Jedi Gro and I got to agree on this one, and I know he’s writing something up on it, too, so I’m going to take a completely different approach on this record, by WARE, No Landing Gear. A different approach is actually very fitting for this cat.
First some bio… Michael “Shance” Ware is a Southern born resident of Music City. Born in Georgia, a “bonafide band geek,” and fantastic musician that knows what he is doing. My kinda dude.
ok, so on to the reviewin’…
If you can’t stand Prince, The Beastie Boys, Cee Lo Green, Outkast, or Maroon 5, do not listen to this record. Don’t listen to this if you hate cool guitars, hard hitting drums and rockin blues riffs. If you want to hear auto-tune sing, instead of someone who actually can sing, you want to avoid No Landing Gear.
If a Les Paul through a Marshall cranked up to 10 is your idea of torture, run! If you can’t bang your head, move on. If head spinning effects like Pink Floyd turn you off, turn elsewhere.
Original beats drive you nuts? Beat it. Hate music that makes you want to dance? That’s what the sidelines are for. If you hate that euphoric feel from being up front at a huge, high energy pop show, don’t go to this one. Do Not Listen to this record if you dis-like Rock, Funk, Jam, Pop, Rap, Blues, Dancehall, Space, or any other kind of music that moves people.
In case you didn’t catch the sarcasm…
What I’m driving at is that this young fella is fun! Great songs, great lyrics, great style, dagnabbit if I were one of those wacky TV judges, I would give this multi-genre, off-the-beaten-path record 9 out of 10. I can’t wait to jam this in the truck and read what Jedi Gro has to say.
WARE also takes part in a very innovative and original show called The Last Drop. Here are some videos.
