At 82 years young, veteran country singer/songwriter Margie Singleton has returned with an uplifting new single, and accompanying video, titled Jesus Is My Pusher.
In Nashville back in the ’50s and ’60s, Margie was part of the early movement which led to the abundant growth of the country music industry over the following decades. Recording 9 Top 40 country singles back in those days, Margie’s biggest hit was Keeping Up With The Joneses.
Margie was the first female artist to record a full album with the one and only George Jones including two original songs. She was also a backup singer for The Jordanaires.
Although her new single, Jesus Is My Pusher, was written during the glory years of the ’60s, it’s recent release is a testament to Margie’s ability for crafting timeless songs which can still impact listeners this many years later.
The video was shot in Hendersonville around Old Hickory Lake, Hendersonville Pentecostal Church and Buck’s Place Recording Studio. It was produced by Kenny Harrison of Shadow Wave Production with directing duties being handled by Kenny and Margie.
Margie’s forthcoming album is due in early 2018 and Jesus Is My Pusher is from that album.
