Let me open with Cory M Coons’ accolades. Ready. Set. Go: nominated at the Producer’s Choice Honors (formerly Los Angeles Music Awards) in the Rock Artist Of The Year category in 2015, recipient of the Producer’s Choice Honor for Studio Album Of The Year in 2014 for his EP Share A Little Time, and he also received nominations for Male Singer/Songwriter and Record Of The Year. Cory is also a respected instructor in the St. Lawrence Seaway Valley and at Rock My House Music Centre in Kemptville, Ontario. He has performed alongside Canadian favorites such as April Wine, Kim Mitchell, Glass Tiger and David Wilcox.
With that out of the way, Cory M Coons recently released a melodically rich roots/country rock album titled The Long Road Home, produced by Multi-Gold and Platinum music veteran Ron Nevison (Heart, Bad Company, Damn Yankees, Survivor, Styx, Night Ranger).
Today I want to highlight the single Once Too Many, Twice Not Enough.
As mentioned above, Cory’s music is melodically rich. Guitar driven Once Too Many, Twice Not Enough does not disappoint in that department. Blending elements of classic roots rock with hints of country rock, Coons delivers a familiar yet refreshing sound that will resonate with more mature listeners without excluding the younger demographics who might have missed the great music that came from this genre in the 60s, 70s and even the 80s.
A powerful, potent rock jam, Once Too Many, Twice Not Enough is going to stick with you long after the song ends. The array of guitar tones woven so perfectly with upbeat rhythms and an uplifting atmosphere provide the engaging soundscape where Cory M Coons‘ performance acts as the icing on this sonic layer cake.
