Cinco Santos is the vision of guitarist-songwriter Lorenzo Montero.
Originally a solo artist, Lorenzo knew he needed a band to truly fulfill his vision.
He spent years searching L.A. for the right team of creative talents. He eventually found his dream team and it includes: Daniel Jimenez (lead vocals), Lorenzo Montero (guitar, vox), Jesse Stern (bass), Willard Lozano (guitar, shredder), and Emiliano Almeida (drums).
Even though my lack of fluency in Spanish hinders me from understanding all of the lyrics in this sonically pleasing Latin rock record; the passion, the soul, the talent, and everything that contributes to top-notch song crafting shines through.
This music moves you. It makes you feel good. It relaxes you then throws you into the middle of the dance floor with no choice but to boogie down.
Duplicidad is the debut album from Cinco Santos but this is by far the group’s first rodeo. Collectively, the group hails from Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. Stylistically they run the gamut from traditional Latin styles to modern rock, pop, gypsy and even electronica.
In 2012, the crew came together to write new material as a band…no individuals bringing songs into the group.
“Sharing in the creative process solidified the band as an artistic entity and yielded our strongest material,” Montero says. “The next stage of our evolution happened as we experimented with how to fuse our different stylistic elements together, and add electronic beats to give our music a unique groove and very contemporary feel.”
Duplicidad needs to be the next purchase for your music collection. Connect with the band on FB or Twitter.
