Take over 20 years of experience, hard work, and a natural born gift. Now take it, turn it on its ear, and travel the world with it. On the other side you have Driven Back by Jesse and Noah. (Set for digital release August 7th, followed by CD then Vinyl.)
Amid the years of writing and recording on different labels, different bands and “doing the music row thing”; Jesse and Noah have forged their sound and a very strong identity. They are set to introduce their first independent release and their third album as a duo, Driven Back.
Driven Back is an eclectic mix of Americana, Roots-Rock, Country and Power pop led by the powerful vocals of Jesse Bellamy. The songs are heartfelt and powerful. Well delivered and colorful.
True Love Doesn’t Beg had me feeling like I was in a border town preparing to gunfight for my love in the moonlight.
Although they jam the power pop and roots-rock sound, for me songs like You Could Have Had It All are the group’s bread and butter. The perfect melding of their voices on the chorus, Jesse’s hauntingly longing vocals, and the lonely tone are surreal. I am lost in the song every time I listen.
Now this is the part where I apologize to the brothers, Jesse and Noah, but if you are sitting there thinking to yourself, “Man his voice reminds me of someone I used to love to listen to but I can’t quite place it”; there is a very good reason.
Jesse and Noah are the sons of legendary singer and songwriter David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers. One of my personal all time favorite groups.
Driven Back is a great collection of stories put to music. Do yourself a favor…grab a copy as soon as they release it on August 7th!
